The quilt we're doing: Tropical Waves |
First full day at sea, and a quilting
class to enjoy at the same time. We are slowly learning our way
around the ship, thank goodness. Sea has been very calm until this
evening, and now the ship is banging and crashing through the water,
and we walk like drunks down the corridors.

Another great quilt: Tropical Flowers |
Sylvia Pippen teaches sashiko (Japanese
decorative stitching) and our lesson today was for a wall hanging
called “Tropical Waves.” Both Tanis and I are taking the class,
and enjoying it hugely. Sylvia's luggage was sent to Manila by
mistake (She hopes that it catches up with her tomorrow in Hobart,
Tasmania.), so we could not see any large quilts, but she did have
some wonderful examples of small quilts which were in her
carry-on---rather than clothes.

Party was this evening, which was a formal evening. After a dinner
(great beef medallion, med rare), Tanis and I went to see the stage
show, and then went to bed (except for me, working on my blog).
So you are going to teach these classes once you return? Beautiful pictures and blogging. Jan
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised anyone can stitch straight with all the bobbing and pitching. Glad the cruise is going well! Miss you! --Rob & Kat
