Morocco 2019 Day 4

Image result for air marocOur final getting from here to there day, although you can count
the night before this as part of the trip.  I hate flying, yet love
going to new places, so just have to put up with the bad to get
the good--at least until I can afford First Class, or even
Business Class. Air Maroc is not bad, food somewhat acceptable,
with adequate leg room.  If airline bathrooms get much smaller
though, there'll be no fitting "traditional-sized" people into them.
(If you haven't read The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency you
won't get the reference.)

We arrived in Casablanca at dark o'clock in the morning.  The sun does not rise until 8:30 in the morning and sets at about 6:45.  Don't know if its because they're in a weird time zone or something else, but I've never been anywhere sunrise is so late.  Finally caught a short flight to Marrakesh, 50 minutes.

Morocco appears from the air.
I knew it was no Sahara on the NW
side of the High Atlas Mountains,
but how green it was not expected.  I also knew Marrakesh was on a high plateau, but I did not realize the snow covered High Atlas was so close.
Looks like the Sierra at home.

The street never is this empty!!  Must be a posed picture.
Finally arrived at the Radisson Blu Marrakesh Carre Eden where we laid flat on the bed until the welcome dinner.  There we met Jim West and Pam Holland, our tour leaders, had an overview of the trip...finally, to bed.
