After meeting Maryanne at LAX, we took Japan airlines to Kyoto. JAL actually has bathrooms large enough to turn around in, and as an additional plus, I had an empty seat next to me.
Sightseeing all over Kyoto on Monday. This is the Temple of the Golden Pavilion, surrounded by a beautiful garden.
This was followed by a Chinese meal, Japanese style, Chinese food being popular here.
Following lunch we went to Brian jingu Shinto Shrine. I didn't realize Shintoism was the original religion of Japan, and is nature based.

Then drove to Nijo-jo castle.
