Day 11-Wellington

Beehive

Wellington is one of New Zealand's largest cities and very busy after all the time spent recently in smaller towns. It is also the capitol of the country and has an interesting Parliament House which the locals call “The Beehive.” See the picture for the reason.

Tanis and I walked to the nearest liquor store to find her favorite sherry, Corban's, a New Zealand product that doesn't seem to exist any more. We must have walked three miles: thankfully the weather was nice, and Wellington lived up to its windy reputation. No Corban's.

Back on the ship we finally made it to a swimming pool and a lazy afternoon, followed by a very nice dinner, of which the best part was the dessert.

  1. What's a Kiwiburger?? As always, I am hungrier after reading this blog.

  2. Check out the picture--beetroot, egg, plus all the regular hamburger things. Yummy, I guess!
