Leaving Sydney

Last day in Sydney :-( There is so much more to see here, but at least I have a sense of what Sydney is, and have enjoyed the time that I've had.

Another nice breakfast in the hotel, then downstairs with suitcases packed. After loading all the suitcases in a trailer behind the bus, we were off to visit two quilt shops in the Inner Western Suburbs. I finally got a somewhat decent picture of the ANZAC Bridge, which the locals call “Madonna's Bra.”

Quiltsmith
First was a visit to Annandale and a shop called Quiltsmith. A very nice shop with really superior Block of the Month selections. Yes, I both spent some money and signed up for a very nice Oriental applique BOM. Great selection of oriental fabrics here.
Logan's Patchwork

The second shop, Logan's Patchwork in the suburb of Leichhardt, had the largest selection of aboriginal fabrics I have seen on the trip. Great place for a lot of different fabrics...oriental as well.

Diamond Princess in background
Back to Circular Quay to board the Diamond Princess. We could see it sticking up above the shorefront buildings, and have discovered it is the second largest cruise ship in the world. After a fairly rapid boarding procedure, we found our stateroom and our luggage was soon delivered. We walked around familarizing ourselves with the layout of the ship...all eleven stories of it. There are actually 15 stories, but passengers are restricted from the first three. I'm sure I will get lost many times during the cruise. After a nice dinner, the ship's safety drill was held, then the ship was under weigh.
Our stateroom, not too bad
